Finding Johnny 

Johnny is at a restaurant trying to grab a quick meal before heading home after a long day. He looks up and who does he see? The mystery lady he’s seen around these past few days. He sits for a few seconds trying to decide whether to make a move. Something in him says he should, the time and place seem perfect.

He finally decides to take the bull by the horns and walks up to this familiar stranger. She’s sitting alone in the restaurant so he walks up to her and introduces himself. Being the perfect gentleman, he kisses her hand. She invites him to sit with her and they end up talking late into the night.

After all the stolen glances and smiles exchanged, the search for Johnny is over.

She's wearing a mini dress with a chiffon overlay. The chiffon has sequin trimmings and a long slit that goes all the way to the waist of the dress. The dress has a low back with the chiffon drapping around the waist of the dress behind.

Meeting Johnny Walker 

They walk past each other in the street. They catch each other’s eyes and probably exchange a smile but no words are exchanged. She’s the pretty girl with the nice smile and he’s the guy that always looks impeccably dressed whenever she sees him.

She’s in a three-quarter sleeved, emerald green mermaid dress with a silver brooch-like appliqué below the bust. The dress is made from lace to midi-length and matching organza gathered from the edge of the lace to the floor. It is accessorised with green jewellery that's a slightly different shade from the dress, a black and silver purse and a multi-coloured ‘gele’.

At the club they stand at the entrance without really acknowledging each other. She’s trying to get in and he’s outside on his phone maybe waiting for his crew before he steps in. He glances up at the pretty girl that’s become quite familiar to him though he still doesn’t know her name.

Today's chance meeting is at church

‘Johnny the Baptist’

Most ladies are familiar with the concept of praying for ‘Mr Right’ at church and attending special singles’ services in the hopes of meeting that ‘Christian guy that loves God’. Johnny and our lady attend the same church and sometimes sit on the same pew or row. He admires her from a distance as she kneels before the altar after each service praying while she surreptitiously appraises him as she walks out of church. 

She’s in an emerald green lace dress, midi in length and with a draped low back. This sheath dress has a flare at the shin and has a big silver brooch in front so it is accessorised with silver jewellery and an emerald green fascinator.

The story of love continues today at the mall...

Casual Johnny

Another chance encounter at the mall but neither of them is paying much attention. She’s on her phone, keeping herself distracted like most of us do when we are alone. She’s probably meeting up with a couple of friends but isn’t quite aware of her surroundings. Johnny walks right beside her and quietly admires her as he does.  

She’s wearing a flowered print wrap maxi skirt with a v-neck, cross-over crop top in the same print.

Looking for my Johnny...Part 1

Hello dear,

Sorry I have been away for so long. I have been working on several clothing collections. Over the next few days, I'll present one of these collections in details.

I have had the idea for this collection for quite a while; I wanted to collaborate with a male designer while telling the story about love, particularly how it can start unexpectedly and in the most mundane places. The collection has been tagged ‘Looking for my Johnny’ after the popular song. It’s about a young lady in search of ‘Mr Right’ but for some odd reason keeps missing him even though they happen to be at the same venues. It will feature outfits designed by Tee-Threads Fashion and Kola Kuddus.

With love you just don’t know where you will meet ‘The One’. It might be the next door neighbour, the person you work with on that project at work, the one you meet regularly at the supermarket or maybe even the person who sits next to you on the rare occasion at church.

The story of this shoot brings to mind the Kelly Rowland song ‘Strange places’. The lyrics go; ‘Love lives in strange places; it’s the obvious that never shows. It just might find you when you least expect it. You’ll never know until you just let go’.

Thinking of Johnny…

Meet our young lady; she’s home thinking of Johnny, who he is and where she might meet him. She imagines herself with him but has no idea he is somewhere in her immediate vicinity. 

She’s dressed in a pink, silk belted romper with multi-coloured rhinestone embellishments on the neckline, and a lacy back.

Maxed Out

Hi dearies,

I know it's been a bit since I posted, I hope you are all doing great! I've been a little busy working on a new collection that will be featured on the blog soon. Meanwhile, I would be featuring some friends, family and clients who have ordered outfits from previous posts or even brand new outfits. Today's post is one of such; both ladies are wearing brightly coloured chiffon maxi dresses that flow with ease and comfort. They are both styled differently; one look is a bit dressy with heels and sunshades and can be completed with a cute clutch while the other is styled casually with flip flops.
