Whimsical Romance...Look 1

Hello dearies

Happy new year…Welcome to 2015!!! May this year be filled with pleasant surprises. I hope the holiday season was exciting for you all. I apologize for the lack of posts on the blog. I have been working on a new collection and will be sharing it with you over the next few weeks. The collection is called ‘Whimsical Romance’ and features pieces that are easy to wear, fun and flirty.

The first post features a crop top and pyjama pants. The crop top has seen a rebirth in the last couple of years and is quite versatile. It can be styled casually or dressed up depending on what it is paired with; a maxi skirt, denim pants, A-line skirts, full circle skirts or as seen here pyjama pants.

The pyjama pants are my take on the popular lounge pants. They are very comfortable and are a great alternative to your everyday denim pants. Lounge pants come in different fabrics including jersey, silk and cotton.

The crop top is short sleeved and made from a fuchsia print silk fabric with a black lace overlay. The pants are also made fuchsia print silk fabric. They have elasticised waist and pant legs so they can be worn by ladies of different sizes. The two pieces can be worn separately and are available to purchase from Tee-Threads Fashion.

Tee-Threads Fashion now has a ready-to-wear line. We are located at 5, Olufunmilola Okikiolu Street, Off Toyin street, Ikeja. You can also contact us using the details below.

The Buba Dress

Hello darlings

Hope the week has started out great for you all. I'm posting today about an outfit I conceptualised to remake from a classic style; 'the Oleku'. I decided to make the style into a dress as opposed to the regular 'iro' and 'buba'. I made the dress as a single colour block of baby pink using drylace. It maintains same upper bodice shape as can be seen from the sleeves and the neckline while the lower bodice is sewn into a fiitted form.

The dress is styled here for either a wedding or a church event. I tied a fucshia pink and teal blue gele to maintain the traditional look. My neck is accessorised with a darker neckpiece from my brother Gbenga, also known as 'Artsmith'. The outfit can be styled in different ways and can even be worn as a casual Friday attire depending on your company's dress code.

My Sunday look - The Bodycon

Hello dearies, today's post is following in theme of days of the week; here's my Sunday look. It's a midi textured jersey bodycon dress in nude. It's got a draped back that turns this simple dress into a glamorous one.

A bodycon dress fits like a second skin; it's meant to hold the body together avoiding jiggly bits. In order to achieve this completely you need the right kind of underwear; Spanx® are a good way to go.  Be cautious when buying these underwear as they are not meant to be tight to the point of being uncomfortable. Bodycon dresses are usually mini, knee length or midi lengths although a few flow all the way to the floor. Whatever you wear with the bodycon, make sure it doesn't overshadow the dress and draw attention away from your curves. Bodycon dresses are suitable for anytime of the day, just ensure you match with appropriate accessories for that time of the day and the event. They can be paired with stilettos, ballet flats and even boots.

P.S: Show off your curves but keep it classy!

My dress has been accesorised with a neon pink hatinator, black shoes and a black clutch with multicolored gem stone. A pop of colour always brings a glam factor to neutral hues and that's what the hatinator achieves in this outfit.

I made this same dress for a client which she wore for her marriage at the registry. This version is red and made from a lace fabric. Like I mentioned earlier the right accessories make a bodycon dress fit for any occasion.

Tuesday

Hello dolls, keeping with the theme of black and white print, today's outfit is an animal print, wrap buttoned-down dress. It is made from tweed and has shoulder pads to give it a structured blazer-like look.

It has been accessorised with an orange neck scarf as well as bag that bring a bit of colour to the outfit and also blend with the buttons on the dress which are equally orange. The belt is an optional extra which helps to cinch the waist for that fitted yet sophisticated look.

Bring on those client meetings!!!
