Saturday

Hello darlings, I decided to take a breather from the daily style inspiration posts. I hope you enjoyed viewing the series as much as I enjoyed putting it together :) . Today's post is a weekend follow up to the series. The outfit for this post is a bit on the dressy side but then most events on Saturday require glitz and glam.

This is a panel dress made from a combination of two sequined fabrics. Panel dresses are perfect for giving the illusion of curves and make you look slimmer (Not that I need any illusions ;;) !). This is especially true when the darker panels are on the sides like in this dress. The patterned fabric is a mixture of black and a nudish colour, and is placed at the centre of both the front and back of the dress. The dress is slightly off shoulder with a boat neckline and a single thigh high slit. This neckline can easily be accessorized by wearing a long pendant necklace or a collar necklace. I have chosen to accessorize differently by wearing dangling earrings and no necklace; this is because the dress is bright and sparkly and doesn't need to be accentuated by several pieces of jewelry.

The outfit is completed with nude peep toe shoes and a black and gold finger ring clutch. Using a different texture (not sequins) for the accessories adds more dimension to the outfit.

I WOKE UP LIKE THIS!!! - Birthday Edition

Hello dolls! Today's post is pretty exciting as it's my birthday edition. I obviously had to treat myself to a super stylish outfit. I chose to make a slick evening dress which turned out perfect for the day's main event.

'The boo' apparently had a romantic evening planned for just us two :x . I got a text from him that evening that read: "A red carpet awaits you outside your gate, take your time, dress up and TURN UP!". So I promptly complied and when I stepped outside he was in a not-so shiny armor and I was whisked away for dinner. Please bear with the greyish pictures; they were taken indoors in low lighting.

The dress is an emerald green silk evening gown. It's floor length and has a tail behind. I chose to make the sleeves asymmetric; sleeveless on one side and kimono-ish on the other side. It is made more dramatic by the pleats across the bodice in the front and the back. A gold embellished trimming runs round the waist of the dress to give it a more dressy look and also to break up its monotonous appearance. A black finger ring clutch with gold trimmings and gold jewelry completed the glam look.

Friday

Hello dearies, for today's post we'll highlight how to take an ensemble from day to evening and/or night with just a few tweaks. We start with a red peplum bustier paired with a burnt orange textured bodycon pencil skirt and a coral blazer. A corsage is added to the blazer for added pizzazz. The vibrancy of these similar colours is toned down by accessorizing with nude peep toes.

This outfit can be made more formal by accessorizing with court shoes.

To dress up the outfit for an evening out with the girls or a date, the bodycon skirt is replaced with a rust coloured sequined one. A simple change of earrings, a matching rust clutch and make up more suited for an evening out complete this look.

Alternatively, if you are going to a venue more suited for it, the blazer can come off leaving the peplum top and the sequined skirt for a chic or less formal look.

Hope you have a fabulous valentine day!!! ;)

Thursday

Hey dearies, hope the week is going well. Today's post is a valentine day inspiration; something red to celebrate the day. I have paired a red pussy bow, three-quarter sleeved blouse with a leopard print midi skirt. The skirt is high waist and sequined.

The outfit combines two very feminine pieces; the pussy bow and the sequined leopard print. This is one of the best ways to wear animal prints; pairing with a bright non-animal print piece. The bright colour helps to take attention from the print and tone it down. Other colours that would work well with animal print are emerald green, pink, yellow, orange and pastels. The look is completed with nude shoes, a black bag and an animal print thin belt.

Hope this inspires your valentine day dress up!!! :)

Wednesday

Hello dolls, so I might not have mentioned how much I love prints but I guess it's pretty much obvious from earlier posts. Today's outfit is a floral pink and nude print wrap jacket paired with simple black pants. The jacket has an asymmetric hem in front and is cinched in with a sash of the same print. Although it is collarless, there is a single flap that gives it a sophisticated twist.

The outfit has been accessorized with a brooch on the flap and nude wedge shoes. The wedges are a comfy break away from your everyday heels and work really well with this jacket.

The jacket could also be worn with a pencil skirt and heels, or a pair of skinny jeans for that 'casual Friday' look. Here's to staving off the mid-week blues with this cheery print! ;)
