Print Party

Hello darlings,

Well, it's not quite a party in here, it's a corporate outfit for any environment. Does this top look familiar? Yes! Yes! It's the same top I paired with a wrap skirt of same print in the "Wrap, drape and knot" post. So I decided to pair it with a contrasting yet complimenting print. Interestingly, the combination of colors on the top is the same on the skirt. There was a time in fashion when it was offensive to wear print on print but those days are long gone! Anything is possible on this side of fashion. I completed my corporate look with a black blazer, black shoes and black structured bag. The metallic belt compliments the metallic detail on the shoes.

Neon Blast

Hello dolls,

I hope you are doing pleasantly well. Today's post is from my Sunday date look. I had to quickly take some pictures to share with you. It's a simple yellow skater dress with pleat details behind that produce a v-neckline. I wanted the dress as simple as possible, so I paired it with cobalt blue heels that have yellowish metal detailing on them and an orange envelope clutch. I used a slim orange and gold metal belt on my waist to compliment my purse. The dress is also suitable for a garden party or wedding. My gorgeous smile (even if I say so) completes my look as I had a few butterflies in my tummy in anticipation....

Bridesmaids Edition: Champagne and Royal Blue

Hey dearies,

How are you all doing? Today I'm featuring another collection for the Bridesmaids Edition. Some brides contact me for their bridesmaids' dresses with their minds set on a design they want replicated from another bridal train. I usually have reservations about this and most times offer some of my designs instead. Some brides go along with my suggestions while some stick to their original plans which is understandable since they have their minds fixed on that design. I always tweak certain details on their chosen style so we don't have an exact replica. This was the case with the dresses in this post but I'm glad all in all that the dresses turned out pretty. I like the way the royal blue pops through the champagne lace and over it as a sash.

A quick advice to my fellow designers/tailors,one challenge I had with these fabrics was that there was a bit of struggle between the lace overlay and the lining so choose your linings carefully when working with certain fabrics.

Nude Floral

Hello lovely people

I fell in love with this chiffon fabric as soon as I saw it in the store and immediately requested all of what the seller had in stock. The floral print on the nude background of the fabric brought the print to life. I decided to embellish the prints with multi-coloured rhinestones in an attempt to make the fabric even more vibrant.

I made a floor length A-line dress with buttons behind arranged in such a way as to give a peek-a-boo effect. I didn't need much accessories for this dress, the red lips were a perfect finish for the whole look. If you are interested in this dress, please contact me ASAP as am getting tempted to make myself more outfits from this print (lol).

Thanks for stopping by.

Xoxo

Wrap, Drape and Knot

Hello dolls,

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend.

This post is a revamped version of the "Twist,Drape and Knot" post especially dedicated to people like me who sometimes get clumsy with tying a wrapper or people who would like to explore the comfort of the outfit for other occasions and environments. What I did basically was to replace the wrapper with a wrap skirt which is easier to wear/tie. The skirt is knee length and as a single piece can be combined with other wardrobe staples for different looks.

I tried a different styling by pairing my wrap skirt with a lace crop top, crystal white layered necklace, purple patent shoes and a black purse.

My sister who got inspired by the "little white dress" post and wore her wrap skirt over her little black dress for a casual look. You can try yours with a tank top instead.

In another look, she wore a crop jacket over the wrap skirt for the office.

I got creative with the blouse too. For one of my clients who wanted something pretty for a day out with her little girls but didn't want to appear too "Mummish"(lol), I mixed the blouse with a plain fabric for the bodice and added a cut out detail on the sleeves instead of the puff sleeves. This piece is very versatile with endless styling possibilities.
